Another BLONDE I Love

I can't help but mention my favorite pint-sized crazy face, Miss Ashley Olsen. My personal favorite of the Olsen duo, I have come to admire everything about A.O., from her funnyman boyfriend to her totally enviable closet (I read in Marie Claire she never throws clothes away...). Honestly, Miss Olsen is the reason I ponied up and subscribed to M.C. Magazine--her cover spread last August? July? I forget--either way, it drew me back into the mag and now I am a loyal subscriber. (Kudos to MC for putting Blake Lively/Serena on last months cover too!)...

The Blonde Rises to the Top

While watching this week's episode of Gossip Girl, I couldn't help but admire Serena's ability to face her critics head on and end her affair with young politico Tripp. And what did she get out of it? A sympathetic look from the forlorn Nate and a trip to Paris. MUY BIEN!!! And then Tripp lays it all out on the line and WHAM! Ahh predicaments. And THEN the letter from her Dad...wowowowowow amazing. Happy Holidays! ;)
Note: This photo is from Season One, but I lovve it- its probably one of my favorite outfits she wears....and this drunk Thanksgiving scene is pretty funny too....

Mi Inspiracion

I am MUCHO obsessed with Senora Lauren Santo Domingo (maiden name: Davis). Basically, she leads the excessively glamorous mirror image of my own life. She also writes for a blog, though hers is part of her job at Vogue. She is also dating a Colombian named Andres, though hers is of the Santo Domingo kind which basically own the country. Alas, rather than hate her, I aspire to be like her.

I LOVE fashion blogs, especially ones with street style. I am currently looking for ones of South America, they seem to be few and far between.

post turkey day wrap up

This holiday season was spent in Athens, GA with my dad, brother (CT), and novio y my stepmom's family. After dinner... dad CT and I went to paint the town in holiday cheer, resulting in my sorry @$$ staying in bed all day Friday aside from my bouts to the bathroom to yak up turkey, gravy, and vodka.

Also, novio is getting ready for FINALS. Its so crazy that semester uno of law school is practically dunzo. I heard horror stories though that 2nd semester is a total bitch. I desperately hope this is not the case.

ALSO, I found out that my Chrsitmas present is a vacation, I'm a bridesmaid in my old college roomate's wedding, and that exercise and eating right really do wonders for a gal's figure. Primero, the trip: a week, mid-2010 BACKPACKING THROUGH PERU TO MACHU PICCHU! Second, the wedding: Kari & Zack, March 2010. And the gym? I'm slowly dwindling away those post collegiate cling-ons. Soooooooo, all in all, todo bien! Except that I am feeling slightly under the weather.

Tiempo a practico my espanol y leo "The Time Traveler's Wife." Que lindo!

The Line "Tears Like Diamonds" Got My Attention...

The incredible lyrics and tempo kept me hooked. In fact, I havent been this much in love with a song since I discovered MGMT's "Kids" in May 2008....

Passion Pit- I've Got Your Number

I’ve always felt so scared of all this needing
Everyone that I’ve met has been somewhat mistreated
That’s how it feels when you know that something’s wrong.
Then you came along like a swan off of the lake
You flew across my eyes and out into space,
And I ran and I crawled and I chased to get out fast.
That’s what I did… (Whoa!)
If there’s just one thing you got to remember;
Is to write down your name and your phone number
That way I’ll have it and we’ll make something out of this mess, oh!
And if all else fails then the ship won’t set sail.
God forbid but I guess the both of us will bail
But as far as I can tell I think things will be swell.
Have you seen me cry tears like diamonds
Down and down they fly, faster and faster like the speed of our love
Batting a thousand, but a homerun crack at love
This is where I tell you that, I know love's what I need to work at
So now the two of us rely on each other
With our premonitions out in the gutter
Who would have thought that I’d make it this far
I’ll make it seem like I’m stronger but I’m quite the actor
And now I’m so caught up and I can’t escape this pattern
But when I started losing hope, there you were, there you bloomed
Have you seen me cry tears like diamonds
Down and down they fly, faster and faster like the speed of our love
Batting a thousand, but a homerun crack at love
This is where I tell you that, I know love's what I need to work at (Whoa!)
Diggy diggy diggy diggy diggy boom boom!
Diggy diggy diggy diggy diggy boom boom!
Diggy diggy diggy diggy diggy boom boom!
Diggy diggy diggy diggy diggy boom boom!
Have you seen me cry tears like diamonds
Down and down they fly, faster and faster like the speed of our love
Batting a thousand, but a homerun crack at love
This is where I tell you that, I know love's what I need to work at, oh
What I need to work at, oh

For the First Time in Such a Long, Long Time....

Here are some pics from the Joshua Radin show Wednesday night in Fort Lauderdale. He played absolutely beautifully, along with opening acts The Kin and two sisters whos name I have embarrasingly forgotten.

Really quick-

while on the topic of things I love, I came across these images from the set of "Alfie"featuring Miss Sienna Miller, one of my absolute favorite people ever! These stills capture the montage scenes when Jude decides she is manic depressive or bipolar or whatever..........

Dear Santa

I know this is premature, being that we haven't even gotten through Thanksgiving, but I believe the early bird gets the worm--or the baubles, in my case. To be fully prepared for this holiday season, I've decided to construct my Christmas Wish List.

You know what I truly adore? Juicy Couture. Them, along with Betsey Johnson, are at the top of my list because they are so unabashedly girly. I love it! I asked for this bracelet for my birthday and was sadly jilted, though no matter, I'll simply pay it forward to my holiday list.
I'll stick to one item per post (I dont want to seem like a materialistic brat!).
In other news, I'm reading a divine book called "The Last Summer (of You and Me)" by Ann Brasheres, the same whimisical writer behind the Traveling Pants books. Takes me back to my youth! Great beach read. It really helped me pass the time while sunbathing yesterday. I have a monster migraine right now, so it's off to the medicine cabinet for excedrin and some tea... ta ta for now ;)

I ABSOLUTELY NEED TO GET MY HANDS
ON THIS BOOK!! As a Gossip Girl devotee, I am
truly intrigued by the plotlines as much as the
sick fashion. Case in point, Serena's one shoulder
black dress tonight (and coat she wore over it)
has me literally foaming at the mouth. I gotta have it! Or, at least, its Forever21 knockoff version. I'm just being real--chica's gotta budget.

Which reminds me--I am MUCHAS furious with the fact that Wednesday's holiday will put off my food/gas/anything and everything spending. In other words, payday has been pushed back. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Veteran's...but I also love to eat.

Also, I officially am taking a psuedo-college Christmas Break! I am BEYOND excited to lay around and have my mom cook for me. And to just RELAX. FOr like... 8 or 9 days! Whoa Nelly.

On the brain: Debating a Master's degree. Of course, I would go for Journalism or something of the like... wondering if I should just try my hand at blogging/contributing writing and see how far that gets me before I pony up a third of my yearly pay for tuition.....

Speaking of, its time to proverbially whore myself out to whatever magazine will print my work. And by whore, I mean hound the living day lights until they recognize how valuable I am. Think Glenn Close in Dangerous Liasons w.o the bunny.

The Art of Doing Nothing

This weekend, I took it upon myself to relish in doing absolutely nada. Aside from the occasional trip to the gym and Blockbuster, I really didn't strain myself to do much of anything. A large motivator behind this decision was the fact that up until Miercoles I have zero dinero.

Which reminds me--Wednesday is a HUGE dia... aside from my bank account's temporary replenishment I also have a show to look forward to! Joshua Radin, the incredibly soulful and romantic indie artist from NYC is playing at a local dive bar and I am SO EXCITED!!! Nothing I love more than live music. It's been a while--I saw the Killers about 2 months ago and Warped Tour was a distant July memory... so I am in dire need of musical therapy.

Also, I am applying to any-and-every writing opportunity on good ole' Craigslist. Hopefully something can blossom out of my efforts. Til later, mi amigos, tonight is already night and I have a busy semana ahead.

As for Novio, he is MUY BIEN! Doing Torts...or Contracts...or whatever is on the agenda this hour. He works so hard and I know he is tired a lot of the time, I really have channeled inner empathy to not only relate to his studying schedule but also his sleep deprivation. Ahhh mi boo! I love him so much. Almost one semester down..........!

Lo siento!

First off, let me say that I am TRES sorry for letting so much time pass without posting... I've been crazily caught up in day-to-day life and actually got back in touch with the prehistoric art form of keeping a spiral bound journal. What began as a daily ritual for me quickly fell into the same tragic fate as this blog....yet I am determined to ressurrect both!

As an update:
-Still living with Novio, who is 3/4ths of the way through his first semester of Law School...yes its been quite stressful, for both of us. Its like when a guy experiences his wifes labor pains and adds a few pounds--I am maxed out on covenant not to compete clauses, Contracts, and Torts

-Deliriously happy!!! :)

-Post tomorrow after a rewarding trip back to the gym
